Props to ludicris for the write up on making your stock wheel graphite.

I did this project over yesterday and today and it looks pimp....i will post pics soon but for the meantime this is the best mod.....trust me!

The car rims look like skyline rims and it gives the car a great appearance.

This easily cost under $40 and really only took 7 or 8 hours. The hardest part was getting the finish off of a non OEM wheel....Last year I had discount tire put in a new wheel cause one of mine wasnt quite round (large pothole) so I bought a new one....well the paint on this was a ***** to get off...took me almost 5 hours and about 10 layers of aircraft stripper and a lotta scrapping off with my fingers....I guess they used a different paint.

Anyways if you have just stock wheels that have never been replaced this look is awesome...for pics see under how to's and once again MAD PROPS TO LUDA!!

How about buying some silver paint aint make some interior parts silver... it makes your interior looking AWESOME when done right...

further... Mesh grill, clear corners, clear tails, modding the blinkers to light up soft with the normal lights, and blink brighter when they have to blink. You can do it by buying a few 5 + 21 watt fittings and connect the 5 watt connector to the original light wires, then connecting the 21 watt wire to the original blinker wires. Maybe some foil to tint your windows, if you can do it yourself you could keep it under 50 bucks I guess.

Good luck!

I would not call the fronts amber, they are orange. The rears are amber. That is the main reason that I replaced the fronts, because they don't even match the tails. With clears in the front (yellow/amber bulbs....not orange), and amber stock tails....it looks cool.

Painting the wheels costs $16 and change(stripper, paint, clear coat). I suggest to anyone who's doing this to buy the stripper in the pour out can not the spray can. The stuff in the spray can isn't as strong.

I must admit the anthracite painted 5-spokes are pure pimp.

How about:

Smoked front ambers and amber cornering lights ($10):

Smoked reverse/turn signals and mostly shaved trunk ($5):

Silver/alum painted center stack with aluminum ball shifter ($23):

Red painted coil cover and handpolished timing chain cover/valve cover ($3):

Still $9 left.

I agree that most people on the org have red/clears but most maximas that are seen on the road usually have fugly altezzas (gen1). The red/clears are just an upgrade from fuglyness.

SE wheels painted graphite look way too much like the graphite Jeep Liberty wheels. But customization is sweet so go paint some wheels! Cheap mods are almost always the best.

i'm buying some G35 rims off of somebody and thought of painting them. but i'm afraid that the graphite looks like the wheel is covered in brake dust. i saw some dirty *** wheels the other day and it looked like graphite color but turned out its covered in dust.

In response to Mr****s95SE about the clears, Ive honestly never seen another maxima on the road that has clears. Just because it may seem everyone on the forum has them, that doesnt really count since we all have maximas.

I agree, however they're more like $30, because the cheapest heat gun I've seen goes for $25 in home depot, provided of course one doesn't already own one.

It's just an OLD notebook he uses for his OBDII scanner thingy. That thing has 200mhz tops. The scan tool probably cost more than the laptop. I gotta get both btw.

no need for a heat gun, its all about the oven. It really is 5 bucks. Plus taking the vinyl off the side pillars to reveal the original paint is another cheap good cosmetic mod imo.

The look with the clear corners is what attracted me to the maxima in the first place. I think it looks very clean. Once I have money left over from paying insurance, cellphone, cc's, AGH maybe I'll shell out the $40 for them.

Another cheap mod is the emblem shaving mod. Just some dental floss, wd40, and some patience.
