Just bought my 95 GLE with 70,000 miles. It is in perfect condition and has brand new Kelly Aqua Tour tires. When I get up above 50 mph there is a lot of road noise from the rear, otherwise the car is super quiet. Is it my tires or could it be something else?

I have noticed that maximas have a higher road noise in the back when compared to the front. Unless if it is really loud, don't worry.

Rear Road noise

Those "Kelly Aqua Tour" tires sound like cheap stuff that typically howls at highway speed...

Is that tire anything like the Goodyear Aquatread tire where basically the middle of the tire is raised off the ground? That will make it louder because then the weight is supported by a smaller tread area.

With the fixed rear camber angle around -1.2 degrees and with toe-in angle typically at several thousands. With those angles, a rigid Z rated tire has most of it's total load placed at the inner edge of the tire... Combine that high load concentration with a scrub angle due to the toe-in measurement, and you will get tire noise...

Doesn't matter so much with the OEM all season tires because they are soft enough to spread their weight across the whole tread.
