idle issues

i just tightened up my throttle cable today and i think from what i can gather that the car is idling too high. it idles about 900rpms in park and 800rpms in drive...i know the specs are 700-800rpms. I tried adjusting the idle with the screw above the IAC, but no go. the idle will not go up or down. i made sure that i didn't over tighten the throttle cable to where it is opening the throttle in any way. i dont' know if you guys can help me on this, but if you can it would be great...or should i just leave it as is?

You must have overtightened it since it's not fully closing the TB plate.

nope, when i screwed it in i only did it till it stopped, i didn't go any further than that...i know that it would be bad to crank down on a plastic screw. i'm just stumped

He means the throttle cable (where as you mean the iac screw right?). Make sure the throttle is still hitting that little stop.

throttle cable is fine....throttle body i fine too...it's just that when i adjust the IAC screw, it doesn't change the idle RPMs like it should

Dude, if you were messing with the cables and now something is off I'd bet it's the cables. That little stopper screw might have moves so back it out a bit also.
