Clear Corners

How many people have not secured their clear corners with a washer and still have not had them popping out?
I installed my clear today, but have not secured them and they seem to be holding up pretty well. I drove over a patch of bumpy road and some speed bumps without any problems. Just wandering if I can keep them like this.
They were only $20, so even if I lose them its really no big deal...

Mine are not secured and have not popped out yet (1yr+). I am tempted though, cause it does make them extreamly easy to steal them.

Did the clear corners come with the washers or whatever you need to secure them? If so, how difficult to secure and why not do it?

I had the clear and now i have the black chrome. They came with everything needed and they wont come out. I tried to take them off both times just to see how easy it is to steal them but its not that easy. 1 clips in and refuses to come out without a fight and the other screws in so thats not coming out any time soon.

No, they don't come with the washers. You're supposed to remove two screws in the wheel well and reach your hand in and use the washers to tighten it from the inside. There is a web site that tells you about it, but I don't have the link right now.

I was thinking of retrofitting a white small wedge bulb (168?) in the front Clear corner, and leaving the bulb used for the directional orange. I would tap into the side marker for power on the small bulb, but this would enable me to have whites all the time, and orange as a blinker. Has anyone tried this yet? If not, does it seem feasable?

You could just do what I did, and put a white buld on the outer one and have the blinker orange, instaed of retrofitting a third bulb. But I dont knoe what your laws say, out here in WI, I havent had any problems with this.

what you could do is switch the blinker light harness with the corner light (disabling teh corner light) so the blinker is exactly at the corner but that makes your blinker-blink fast...but you won't have use of the other light...u dig?

Mine have not popped out in about a year and a half and I didn't secure them.

All I did is just back the hex bolt back out a little, and then pop it back in there. It has been good ever since.

mine felt ok when I installed em.. Then some 3.5L altima stepped up and it popped out while I was racing.. So if I plan on driving hard, I'd make sure they are secured.
