Driver side head light keeps going out.
Hello All,
The driver side head light on my brothers Max (95 SE, Auto) keeps going out, its was replaced and then a few days later went out again, no bumps to the car, nothing hittting the head light. Im not sure whats causing this but wanted toget somea dvice and find out what I can do to diagnose the problem. I'm thinking maybe too much electricity is being put the light causing it to go out.
I would like to do a multmeter test and make sure the number are correct, what range should I be looking for with the head light (driver side)? and is it il volts?
thanks in advance.

is it burning out or going out??? my buddy's max had the same problem after he changed his headlights, and it was a problem with the harness, he would just pop the hood and jiggle the wires and it would turn back on.... GOOD LUCK
If the problem randomly happens and is not burning the bulbs out (swap over to the other side and test), it may be the actual headlamp/turn signal stalk. 3rd gens have this problem, and one of my family member's 98 GLE had a bad one as well. Also see if anything changes while using the turn signals/high beams- sometimes the light that is out will swap sides when the high beams are used.

I had that same problem and I had to buty a new harness. You can buy them at Auto Zone for about $4.00 so they are not expensive. If it is like mine, then this problem will only get worse to the point where jiggling the lights won't help. Check insode the harness and you may see that it looks toasted inside. hope this helps, good luck!
