Is the transmission from the i30 a direct swap meaning would i have to change anything else. my transmission has just gone south and i was wondering if i were to buy a used 5spd i30 tranny w/vlsd could it go in w/o changing anything else. I asked the aamco guy and he said that he didnt know if he would have to change axles or some other parts. Thanx

drivers side axle needs to be changed. you need to get a drivers side axle for a LSD MT I30. if you are going to change the tranny/axle seal, then they are also different as the hole where the axle goes into the tranny are larger on the I30 tranny vs. the Maxima tranny.

other than the drivers side axle...everything else should be the same. you can re-use your passenger sie axle from the maxima if you choose to do so.
