Getting the 95-96 Sp2 to work?

I really like the Greddy Sp2 exhaust but sadly they dont make it for us 97-99 guys. My question is how would I go about making an Sp2 exhaust for a 95-96 Maxima work? I believe that I would have to get one O2 sensor hole plugged, and extend it right? But by how much? Also has anyone ever done this? Post pics if you have the 95-96 Sp2 installed on your car modifed or not. Thanks in advance guys

The muffler will tuck under your bumper, and you'll need an o2 bug welded on the b pipe.

So all that needs to be done is to have it extended. I might go ahead with this as my next mod. A muffler shop should be able to do this right? Also how does the Sp2 sound with a y-pipe? Thanks in advance again!

95/96 and early 97 have the rear o2 sensor in the cat. 97-98 have them in an "S" pipe behind the cat. 99's are weird, some have them and some dont. Mmmaxx's 99 has one but Gregs, http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Garage/1999%20Nissan%20Maxima%20SE/1999%20Maxima%20SE.htm,
99 doesnt. So confusing.

Anyway the SP2 is a compleat bolt on for all 4thgens,
since the SP2 owners have stated there is a bung for the o2. The only thing is it looks retarded on a 97-99 because the rear bumper is longer.

well offically my car is a 99.5 since it is an SE-L. i know for a fact it does not have that S restrictor type thing that greg has on his max. i was under there during the y pipe install. i had read some places that 99's can use greddy EVO exhaust system because the 99.5 and 2000 may have the same exhaust piping setup but i am uncertain. i don't mind getting the greddy sp2 and the having the piping lengthen about 3 inches so it can fit flust with the bumper. the longer i own this damn 99 SE-L maxima the more fitment issues i encounter. like my strut bar for example. thanks for the info

Guys I have decided to order the Sp2 on Monday. I will extend it about 3inches or so and it should be fine. I just hope it doesn't sound too ricey by extending it and having a y-pipe.

Bump. nissanfreak since we are in the same boat, and you also have a 99 SE-L i noticed that we have no O2 sensors in the B pipe on or car so it wouldn't be needed to add the bung but you could add a longer magnaflow res. as the extension. if this works let me know i am very interested and would love pics

You need about a 2" extension to make it fit right. You can have it made at any muffler shop - it's just a 2" piece of pipe with flanges on either end. This will cause the hangers to stretch a little but the tip will sit flush.

i have the sp2 with the WS y-pipe. it sounds really good. a very deep tone when first accelerating, it gets a little raspy at 3500rpms but goes away before 4000. when driving on the highway or long roads there's no drone. a very quite system until you plan on going WOT.

earilest i can order mine is friday since i am not getting paid untill then, from the reseach i have done and the pics i have seen of the SP2 for the 95-96. it shouldn't require much work at all. just the addition of maybe 2-3 inches on the b-pipe.i have been looking at the stock exhaust alot and there is no O2 sensor in my B-pipe or after the cat anywhere for that matter and i have a 1999 SE-L also. mine is cali emissions though.i am probally going to get my SP-2 from berk technology, i saw in the group deal forum they have them for $489 shipped, so look there unless you found it cheaper. good luck
