I think that there is a web site that sells pre-cut film that you can put over your fog lights. anyone else know???

I think that's it but that looks so stupid. You have yellow fog lights 24/7 even if they aren't on. Unfortunately most of the bulbs they sell aren't yellow enough to have the IS look. I've seen narvas, hellas and they all have a weak yellow light output.

But you CAN have them retrofit the Lexus OEM capsule into your fog light housing for the actual Lexus look, instead of look-alike.

In the photos it looks like you painted the housing not the bulbs.

That doesn't really look good since you have the yellow look even if the fogs aren't on.

That's a stupid thing to say. Why would he spend $40k just to have yellow fogs when he can spend just $20 and have yellow fogs. Think before you write.

i think the yellow fog light film looks great on nismo14's car, i have the same color car he has and i think it looks awesome. it separates the "everyday" 4th generation maximas,,,which i think is cool....but it's not a rice at all. just my .02

I think you need to re-aim the passenger side light, or is that just in the photo?

I don't think there is one. You gotta yank the bracket and even them out.

The aiming bolt is right on the back of the foglight. Just look and you'll see it. I believe there are instructions as far as which way to turn and how much in the FAQ on www.maxima.org....not sure if it's in the forum FAQ.

As far as yellow, we need to add this to the f'ing FAQ so I can stop typing this over and over...

Hella Yellowstars - Garbage since they started being made in Korea

PIAA Ion Crystal - Garbage. Not yellow, changes color as you drive by...ricey.

HIDTech condoms/yellow globes - Getting the lens off your fogs is more or less impossible, so you will have to drill the housing.

Narvas - Good. Very yellow but 85w will cause you to crack your fogs eventually.

Catz - Glad dude posted a pic above...I've been meaning to. You can't even tell from the pic, but they are very yellow and look very good. I am 100% satisfied with them so far....they're probably even more yellow than the Narvas and the lower wattage hasn't been bad and is def worth not cracking lenses. These are my new recommendation.

How long ago did you get them? Where did you get them? Are you sure they were made in Germany? I believe the boxes for the newer crappier ones say something about Germany on them even though they were made in Korea...I'd have to check.

Maybe they switched back or you got old stock or something. The old ones were the bomb diggity, but I used to get them from the same place every time and you could tell exactly when they changed: color was different, box was smaller, and they lasted about a week before blowing.

I hope they changed back to Germany! How nice would that be!

You could try these:
www.superlumination.com

I just put new fogs in my housings or else I would try them out.
I bought some 9004 headlight bulbs from here, and I like them pretty well. I mean, the light output is not all as bright as it could be, but they are really white. They are fine on low beams, but the light is scattered a little too much for the high beams.

I would think the fogs would be pretty good too. You could try out the Yellow ones and not really be out any cash. I mean, the shipping is only like $2 or something. Check it out. They guy that owns that site is really good to deal with and fast.

There are other cars with yellow bulb condoms, my old TL had em, im sure QX4s have em. IS300s arent the only ones that have them, and werent the first. Im sure if you scout a junkyard nearby, you can find them. Just research the cars with yellow foglights that come from the factory.

And no, you wont have to open the housing to fit the condom on there, it can fit through the bulb opening, atleast with the TL(First generation) ones it does. This is the ONLY method someone should use for yellow foglights, all the others are just dumb. I had a pair of yellow bulbs from ebay that lasted a whole 4 weeks.

If the bulbs dont emit a yellow light... then im going with some late 80's prelude fog lights. And take the yellow capsule out, and putting them in my 97.

Hmm...interesting. They're 55w, I've enver tried the Hella 55's, only the 85's. The box *looks* like the ones that are made in Korea, but it's hard to tell obviously. Well, I'll ahve to look into it some more...it sure would be nice if they got their **** together and started making the yellow stars decent again. then again, the Catz are more or less just as good as the old yellow stars.

The condom idea is entirely reasonable since there is plenty of space to fit in there, but I know HIDTEch specifically told me you had to get the light open to install them. If indeed there are ones that could fit through the bulb hole and just secure via a flange (just like the bulb) I would kill to find some. I ahve a feeling we might bet a better yellow out of them.

As far as bulbs, the quality of them varies wildly from brand to brand. The Catz ones really are pretty good...although I can't comment on longevity yet. The Narvas were also good enough...they lasted about a year which is decent considering that they put out way too much heat for that housing.

yeah, anything that I look at using, I use all the time.
That is why is makes sense to do like Nismos14(here is a plug for your lights) because they will probably last longer. Also, if they don't last, all you have to do is go buy an OEM bulb and you have yellow fogs again.
