Rear heated 02 sensor

I just pulled codes from my ceck engine light and ended up getting two! 0707 which is the rear heated 02 sensor and 0304 which is the infamous knock sensor. any help on fixing these two beetches? i really dont want to take it to a mechanic unless i absolutely have to becuase i want to learn as much as possible about my car.
by the way, i have a 1995 Maxima, thought it was a GLE but some guy in another post said they dnt make GLEs in a 5 speed. Im pretty positive it is a GLE though cause i had the black gauge cluster, silver door handles, no leather, no auto climate, etc. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks

You have a GXE model maxima (stripped down, 5spd was standard, could get it in auto)...as opposed to the SE (with white gauges, stiffer suspension, body colored door handles, etc.) or the GLE (leather, Bose, automatic, silver handles, black guages,etc.).

Changing the O2 sensors is not hard - just buy a new sensor - e.g. www.oxygensensors.com (70-80 bucks) - get an OEM sensor (not universal fit - that way you don't have to mess around with splicing the old harness in)... you can rent a O2 sensor socket from autozone or an equivalent store.

Check this site for information on exactly which sensor you need to replace:

Change the O2 sensor first then reset your ECU. If you're lucky, the KS code will not come back after replacing the O2 sensor.

Never heard of the rear O2 setting off the KS code. It didn't for me.
