Camber Correction?
Camber Correction?
As far as I know, there is no adjustment that can be made for camber on the 4th gen. So what can I do? Is there some kind of camber correction kit out anywhere? I've heard people talk about camber bolts, but I don't know what they are or how they work. I'm on H&R springs and GR2 struts. Anyone else with this setup have camber problems? It's really wearing out my tires.
If you havent done it already, have your alignment done so that they can fix your "toe" which is what really kills your tires because of the dragging of the inside of your tires.
Eibach makes a camber kit, which replaces your lower-top strut to knuckle bolt. The camber bolt has a little notch which pushes against your strut assembly, and gives you the adjustment that you need.

Are you sure? I had my allignment done(stealership) and I THOUGHT I only needed to get the TOE corrected. The guy asked me if I was sure that I didn't want the camber done as well. I only had the toe corrected while my camber was left, it was out of spec by just a hair. I know the rear can't be adjusted. OBX also has a camber kit. It was like $20 on ebay.
I have the eibach bolts asn it worked fine for camber adjustment. Stillen has camber adjustment plates. I am not sure how much or what benefit you gain from these, but I know they go up to 3 degrees of camber adjustment. Might be worth lookin into if you have a serious drop.
Well, I was addressing his issue with very fast tire wear. When lowered the length of the tie-rods doesn't change and causes toe-out, which can well off the more you lower the car. You end up dragging your tires down the road a bit sideways. When I went in for alignment, my toe was off by 6 inches, which is really bad and very noticeable by just looking. It looks like the camber is at fault because the tire is running more on the inside, but if you had 0 camber and that much toe a tire would wear just as fast.
I have Ground Control's/Illumina's with about a 2.5" drop. My tires are **** after about 5k miles. I dropped it myself and never had the algnment done so i know its my fault. Now i'm in the business for some toyo proxes T1-S's. I don't know wether if i should get some sort of camber kit or have the toe and camber adjusted without the kit. any sugg's?
