Limited-slip diff for my '96 SE automatic.

I can't find a limited-slip diff replacement. Quaife seems to only have one for manuals. The best I've found is a company called Phantom Grip which sells a conversion kit. Anyone have any experience with this kit or other ideas? Thx in advance.

Wow, I'm surprised you actually got a LSD in the auto max, MUST be canadian. Your options are to either get another tranny with a LSD or get the phantom grip spider gears. People here don't trust them but they don't know much. No one here has one as far as I know.

The transmission model number yuou want is RE4F04V. That is the one with the VLSD. The regular Max trans is the RE4F04A.

The V came in Canadian SE (and maybe ES) models, the US I30t, and the US Anniversary Edition Maxima for 2001.

The AE 5th Gen trans will fit the 4th Gen cars.

what type of lsd do you guys prefer...1, 1.5, or 2?
I heard a 1.5 is good all around.

Sorry about the confusion. What I meant to say was that I would like to replace the open diff on my automatic with an LSD and I was hoping for some suggestions. Thx again for your feedback.
