Some random pics of my Max and Benz

Yeah, I hear ya man ... the pinstripes gotta go on both cars.
I'm on the fence about tint, I may get it to keep the sun out of my son's eyes. I'd rather spend my cash on performance parts ... but, maybe I'll have my wife pay for it as a father's day gift

Well...he's selling the benz...soooo
well, I wanna know the answer to that too....Also which one handles, stops, and goes better? I know the C230 isn't a rocket or anything but MB seems to have a way with makin lower power cars perform better than expected.

I'll try to do a fair comparison ...
Suspension:
The Max wins, hands down. Simply due to the new springs and struts in it. But, if they were both stock, the Benz takes it.
Drivetrain:
Benz wins but barely. It's rear wheel drive
Only drawback is that it's a 5-speed auto. So, that's why it barely wins ... if it was manual, there'd be no contest. I'm just a sucker for some sideways fun.
Looks:
Well, it's all personal taste and depends on which day you ask me. I prefer the color of the Benz, but I like the non-flashy nature of the Max. This one is a draw.
Engine:
Well, this has to go to the Maxima. Simply because it feels stronger (which it is) and has a much wider power band. The Benz is a 2.3L 4CYL cranking out roughly the same HP/TQ as a stock 4th gen max - but, you have to really lay into it for any power (think VTEC).
Mileage and Comfort:
Do you have to ask? The Benz wins by a landslide, beautiful fit and finish in the interior. I just looks right, nothing feels like it was neglected by the designers ... all the controls, *****, buttons and surfaces feel just right and solid. It also gets 30-35MPG on the highway.
Build Quality:
Again ... no brainer. Benz all the way. It just feels very solid; pretty much like a tank.
If I were going to buy new (a 2004 Max SE vs C230 Kompressor, both manual), it'd be a tough decision ... but I think the Maxima would win, largely due to the amount of available power and that it's a V6 not a 1.8L Supercharged 4CYL (yes, the new ones are 1.8L).
But, for that kind of scratch, I'd rather have an STi any day.

I hate when people flame Benz in any way whatsoever. First off, how can you even compare that benz above since this particular model is sooooooooooo much different in terms of performance specs.

In any case, a beast like the E-55 AMG is thus far the only car ever built that comes auto and still able to open a can of whoop a$$ on a car in its class like a 6-spd M5. Well, I know there's the RS6, but it's crap.

I absolutely LOVE the C32 and the E55 ... driven both and they left me speechless.
Actually, I'm selling the Benz to go bigger. Either going to get an X5 4.4i, FX45 or an ML500. I just need to find the time to actually go test drive and comparison shopping.
I actually do all the maintenance on the Benz myself, so it keeps costs down. But 6 quarts of oil at $10 a quart isn't cheap by any standards. However, you only have to change it every 10K miles![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
About the lights on my max, LOL! Yeah, rice I know. But to my defense, the package said "Super White" ...
It's another one of those "when I get around to it" things.

I wouldn't worry too much about the lights, they look damn nice at night time, those yellow ones, ewwww. I drove the FX45, unbelievable experience, feels just like a car even though you're pretty high up. Lots of power, and feels very nimble. I was really impressed. Oh and the exhaust sound at WOT, wow. Never drove the X5 or the ML, although don't like the looks of the ML
