Help w/ Banjo Bolt - Brake Calipers

I am trying to remove my front calipers to rebuild them. I am having a hard time removing the banjo bolt. It is 12mm, and Ive tried just about everything. PB Blaster didn't loosen it up. Any help?

Maybe you're tightening them instead of loosening? The drivers side one you loosen towards the front and the passenger toward the rear. Not sure what to tell ypu as those are the easy bolts to remove. Also I hope you're removing these BEFORE you remove anyo ther bolts from the bracket or the caliper. Leaving the others on makes it much easier.

to what Big D already said... shouldn't be that hard to get these off... they should be much easier to remove than the bolts that secure the torque-member...

Well maybe you need to put everything back together if you can't get it off any other way - should only take 5 mins to put the torque member on and the caliper back on - don't need to worry about putting the rotor or pads on ...

If you still cant get it after that, the I would highly recomend a Hand Impact Driver. I have had people come in, and those bolts are on tight as hell, like the last person to do the brakes thought if they just put them on as tight as possible it would be the best.

Thanks for the tips. I was able to get the bolt off so easily after I put everything back together. So now I have the calipers removed, and cleaned. I am having trouble removing the pistons so that I can rebuild the calipers. I have been trying to use pliars.. what am I doing wrong?

ha Pliers wont do. They might be able to work, but will take a looooong time, and you will get frustrated. The way to remove the piston, is to use an air gun, and force air through the hole were the brake line connects, After you GENTALY do this the piston will simply POP out.
