anybody made/use grounding wires?

i read about using or making your own grounding wires instead of buying a pre-made kit. it seems simple enough to make, but i am wondering what and where am i suppose to connect the wires to?

thats is the question in the original post. what am i suppose to ground? the ground wire kits usually comes with 5-7 wires but i don't know where they're suppose to go.

It's better to have a dual post battery. I've seen them on both driver and pass headlight grounds, TB, Intake manifold, KS, Alternator, Block...

ok i just made myself one last week, what i grounded it to was
1. driver side headlight
2. passenger side headlight
3. Alternator
4. timing chain cover
5. throttle body
6. intake manifold

and i used 4 gauge wire which was overkill but all i had, overall i don't notice any difference but oh well,

Thanks Fishpony! I too have been interested in what I need to connect when dealing with this simple mod. I believe 4 gauge is the better choice, I can't see paying $100 for 7 peices of 8 gauge wires.

why do you guys ground the headlights? is there really a need for it? regarding the other grounds, do you just connect them to any bolt thats on say the timing chain cover or throttle body? or is there a specific bolt?

just to make the headlights shine brighter, and any bolt will work, i can get pics for u guys of mine if you want them tomorow jus let me know, btw i bought shrink wrap and used that which made it look a lot better, i also bought a sidepost to use in my battery but i think i strippied my battery out by tightening it too tight so watch out when u do that

my battery doesn't have a side post, so i was thinking of grounding to the main engine ground as one writeup suggested. it'll be great if you can upload some pics, just to clarify. thanks again.
