New free mod: "90 degree door mod" with PICS!

check it out guys, me and szeman4 were messing around today and just came up with this one. its the 90 degree door open mod. aka the "right-angle door mod". Takes little or no time or money either! Let me know if anyone wants a writeup, i'll put one together with some better pics.

another view from the front:

A gust of wind will send your door flying right into someone elses car.

A strong gust of wind will possibly do some damage to the door/hinge if you leave the door like. Having the door being able to open at such a degree pretty much makes it into a sail. The mod might be good for those that do car shows though.

this would be a great mod if it can be done to the rear door as well. Just imagine how much easier it would be to put large items like a 27" tv into the backseat with a door that opens up that much.

post a write-up. is this reversible? it'd be great to get the door open wider just for a few minutes and then put it back to normal

NICE.....now it will be much easier to toss out that annoying passeneger at high speeds, or even the frustrating backseat driver!

Almost forgot the bikers, good call guys, hitting them square with the door instead of allowing them to rolloff the angled door will do much more damage!

Actually I am interested in the how to so lets hear it!

this might have more use for the rear two doors than the front two since you can get stuff in and out easier. still remembered trying to stuff a 21in monitor in the back seat of a honda and swore that i wish the doors opened up more!

so are you're saying that if he drives fast enough, and has his car doors open, the 'sail' door can turn his maxima into an airplane?

This one reminds me of the time my cus rolled his Del Sol out of my drive way with the door open. He hit my 96 and made his own 90* door.

i like the fold seats down all the way make maxima into a bed mod.

It would be a good idea to do it to the backdoor because I've loaded big things in the back and the main problem is the door opening isnt big enough to make loading easy.

Plus the rear doors arent open much so it wont be flying into ppls doors..with me anyway.

holy crap you guys i have to confess, this was supposed to be a joke and i was going to post a follow up after a couple people made fun of it and we all had some laughs (but people actually want to see this mod happen?!??), i got really busy at work and kinda forgot about this thread. didn't mean to mislead anybody.

We were working on our friends max last weekend and his car got brutally sideswiped a little while ago, still many things broken, one being the hinge on the door is broken, and the door seems to open up as far as you want it to... it scrapes the front quarter panel so this might not be something to further pursue... but maybe we stumbled on an idea for the rear doors out of a joke gone horribly wrong?
