i wanna tap my radar into my cig lighter.I pulled out the cig lighter and saw a orange and black wire..and i cut the wires to the radar and theres a red and white so do i connect the oranger to the red and white to the black??..Oh by the way i found this radar on the road and the cord was all fked up..so hoping it will work this way.

 

hey man do it the right way not the ghetto way alright. i just put in my radar when i bought the car like 3 weeks ago. go to radio shack and bring your radar, then look through the connectors for a wall adapter (like the one that you use for a cell phone charger lats say) then get one that fits, then get yourself some extencion cord for a wall adapter make sure that the plug fits the extencion and your done. when you get home just plug one wire into the fuse panel and the other to a ground (there is a bold reall close below the fues panel) put the positive to the fuse named AUDIO! this is important cuz the radar will only turn on when your keys are in the car.
