250 a tank??? Wow, that sucks. If I'm not running my A/C and I'm not beating on my Max at all, I can touch 425 miles a tank. I've noticed that the A/C sucks up a nice chunk of gas .... something I wouldn't mind if Nissan's A/C systems were actually cold instead of just cool. Also check your ECU for codes related to the oxygen sensor. A bad o2 sensor can screw up your mileage significantly. Other than that .... I don't know. Make sure there's no leaks in the system and your injectors are working properly. And maybe even check compression. When my turbo Talon's 4G63 was losing compression, my mileage dropped off something nasty.

My best tank of normal day to day driving is right at 400 miles, but I usually get more like 360.

I get excellent milage on my 95 either, 360 to over 400 (70% hway/30% city). I do my best to keep engine in tip top shape so it pays!

Is this a trick question, or is it one of those misery loves company feel good threads? Let's see, 250/18.5 = 13.51 mpg. What do you want us to say, that it's ok, not bad? I have a spreadsheet for my Max since 1998, over 92k miles the avg mpg is 24.1. The car rarely has seen the highway on a consistent basis since 2000, but when it does it can still kiss 30 mpg depending. Most of the time it's stuck in and out of suburban Philly traffic. 13.51 I'd check for fuel leaks, that's simply awful, whether my statement is politically correct or not.

I get around 280 city driving, and here it's a lot of stop and go. Hway is lot more. People that get over 300 must be doing a lot of hway driving.

I would get about 350 if not more driving to classes everyday last semester, that was like 3 trips of 2 miles a piece each day. I would change the fuel filter, check for any drips on the ground where you park your car. As for waxes, I use either the new Eagle One nano-wax or meguiars, both have given me good results.

That's still terrible, even with the new KS.

Why is it everybody talks about "miles per tank"? What's a tankful? When the needle gets near E, when the low fuel light comes on, when the car actually sputters and dies. All these are several gallons apart from each other. I always check my MPG by resetting the odometer when I fill up, then divide the miles driven by gallons put in. I've gotten as bad as 18.2 in bad city and as good as 41 on a 162 mile segment with the cruise set at 63 MPH (verified with GPS). I think we should speak in terms of actual MPG not MPT. Just my .02, sorry for rambling.

I'd definitely look at the fuel filter firstly, since it's the cheapest fix that could yield significant difference.

I was getting about 16-18MPG 100% city driving. After the new fuel filter, I'm getting 20-21MPG 100% city, and a whole bunch of hills.

My last tank I got 315mi (all city) when the idiot light came on. Pumped in 15 gallons (57L).

Don't be a smarty and make it smaller. Read the TOS or what ever we have, there are rules about SIGs.

I'm getting okay gas mileage. 300 to the tank, and 275(I punch my gas all the time). Try not to go above 3,000 RPM's, that's what I'm going to do.

He's right MPG is the correct reference here, nobody here fills the tank at the exact point.

i just figured my last take at 450 miles. this is with about 70% highway. i used ac for about 30% of the time cause its so damn hot here. i think this is prety decent, but ive gotten better. the ac uses up a lot it seems. i really cant believe some of the low numbers people have even with mostly city driving. maybe you could try modifying your driving style like keeping it below 3k rpm and upshifting a lot....

i saved my last recept. i filled the tank then drove till it was at the last bar. at this point i had gone 395 miles. then i filled up again taking 16.4 gal. 395 divided by 16.4 is 24.08. if you take 14.08 times 18.5(the size of the tank) you get 445gal.

I take it the vehicle in question is not modded. What condition is the air filter in?

I recently bought a K&N panel filter and topped up my gas tank when a little less than half full. I got better than usual mileage in city driving and that includes playing with my new Y-pipe for about 50 miles. I am now trying, emphasis on trying, to drive it more sensibly and will have a better handle on this tank which I intend to run down to the idiot light in order to get a better read on MPG. Also check your tire inflation, a lot of people run around on under-inflated tires.

I get about 22mpg with all city driving (alot of stop n go traffic) and A/C on. Perform all of the standard maintenace stuff like changing the fuel filter, PCV valve, spark plugs, oil+filter, coolant flush. Be sure to also check your tire pressure 32-36 psi. Finally, try running some seafoam through the break booster tube, gas tank and crankcase. Every little bit helps and you should see a change in your MPG. Good Luck.

Maybe you need to do some refreshing, it's that button on the browser next to the STOP or X sign if you have XP. IT IS CHANGED TRUST ME, seems fine on my browser.

Im getting less than 250 to a tank so my mileage is terrible. I replaced both o2 sensors, used seafoam, injection cleaner and checked for the knock sensor ghost code and I still have bad mileage. Someone replaced their throttle position sensor and it helped their mileage a good amount so I will try that next.

people's definitions of "daily driving" and "highway driving" are very different depending on where you live.

"daily driving" in my area (just outside the city, about 3 miles from queens) gets me 250 to a full tank.

to you guys from down south or out in the midwest, that probably sounds like it sucks... but it's normal. my car's not broken, believe me.

I drove all highway straight to florida and was getting 400+ miles per tank. sounds on target, right?

Well I don't know but traffic is pretty bad here and there's lights at every block, it really doesn't help. So I'm pretty happy with about 280 miles, I usually put about 15 gallons in, don't let it dry too much. Also the manuals should get better mileage, I'm auto so there's another downer.

chillin try refreshing your browser, that should help. I did change pic sizes and the links were updated. BTW yours looks better, the kit makes it look really nice, 18 also help. I just got the stillen lip, waiting to get it painted and put on. Hopefully soon

I have gotten over 500 miles to the tank on the highway on numerous occasions, with the best being about 550. That's with a 5-speed and the air conditioning not on. Granted the idiot light has been on for some time, but I certainly haven't run out of gas.

I get 400 miles / tank. (less on the weekend )

Then again I commute @ 65mph, 110 miles a day on the interstate turning about 2500 rpm.
