brake pads
From people who have already switched out there oem brake pads, that time has came for me. I am looking for the best place to get both front and rear ceramic pads for a pretty good price. Can you guys help me out and let me know what you guys purchased and if you like them? price too plz
Anyone that can throw out an opinion would be greatly appreciated. Are those hice performance plus Hawk pads any good on custommax?

I am currently using Hawk HPS pads combined with PowerSlot slotted rotors up front. They sometimes give a little brake noise, and they dust more than OEM, but I can deal with more dust and a little noise for increased stopping ability. I use to encounter brake fade with the OEM pads while doing some spirited driving (not fun when trying to slow down quickly), but have yet to encounter that with these pads. I am happy with their performance. I paid around $60 dollars for them throught the TireRack.
I have Raybestos Quietstops, but they have never been too quiet for me. They are cheap, but other than the really low-dusting aspect of them, I have not been overly impressed with them.
I think I liked my EBC Greenstuff pads better as far as stopping power. They did dust a lot though.

I've got Hawk HPS pads and I can't say that I've experienced any brake fade ever, even under repeated heavy stops. They seem to need a little bit of warmup though before they start to grip really hard. The only thing I don't like is that there is a good bit more brake dust than with my old Raybestos QS's... I wash my car probably twice a week though, so its not a real issue.

That is the best thing that the Raybestos QS have going for them, they are very low dust. You can actually go for like 2 weeks and your wheels still don't really look bad. With those EBC greenstuff, the grab was really really good, but you could not go even a week without your wheels looking pretty dirty.
I have HP+ (track ver of HPS, which are street pads). Dust like crazy... 1 day of driving will coat your rims. These things eat rotors! They also take a good stop to heat up to max friction (so be careful of the 1st stop u make)
There are plenty of people on this forum running Raybestos Quietstop. The altima people like EBC. There's nothing wrong w/the Nissan pads, just don't get the cheapy ones (Key Value, I think they're called).
