bumper lens rewire

i'm planning on doing this mod but would rather use a factory plug instead of buying a plug from autozone and using silicone. i looked at my tail light socket and don't see how the socket would work for the bumper lens. i have a 96 so is it that the 97+ have diffrent sockets?

i bought one from autozone, the part was for a GM car it was an 1157 socket, fit right in the clear corner lense like a charm... i just got the same part that he suggested in the writeup i think.. it fit in there like stock.
