Anyone who has either a Stillen Intake or JWT popcharger and lives in a warm climate during the summer months (over 70F). Has anyone had any problems or noticed a large increase or rough idle when it gets hot in the summer with these "under the hood" intakes????? I got mine in Dec. and I live in chicago, so It's been perfectly fine since it hasn't gotten above 60F yet. I'm just worried that I'm going to be disappointed when summer comes. thanks in advance for anyone's info.

Make sure to still use the lower half of the stock airbox if you can. This will funnel in some cooler air. When I had my HKS intake, I also ran a 2.5" piece of shopvac hose from under the nose to the intake. The underhood intakes do draw in a lot of hot air and will possibly make your car slower. However, ALL cars are slower in 80+ degree weather. The PR CAI or Poorman's intakes would be your best bet for warmer weather. In cooler weather, the difference between these intakes is negligible. I do know this, many other cars have been dyno tested with the underhood intakes and the car loses about 2-4 fwhp and torque when the hood is closed vs being open on the dyno. That might be of interest to you.

im not a 4th gen'er but i can say that in FLA when the weather gets about 90 degrees my car dogs....its a very noticible loss of power and im hoping that when i get the CAI that i might get back some of that HP lost to heat....
