Air/Fuel ratio gauge hook up

Hey fellas,

I know this might sound dumb, but I have a few autometer phantom gauges that have been sitting in my garage for a very long time. Well thanks to (Nismo) I was able to locate & purchase a 3 gauge A pillar pod from Custom maxima. It should be arriving in the next couple of days. I have just one question though regarding my A/F Ratio gauge. I have been checking the org. & found out that you are able to get more accurate readings with the gauge when you tap into the wire directly connected to the ECU. The ECU connection numbers are 51 = front bank O2 sensor & 52 = rear bank O2 sensor. My only problem is this information was provided off of a 96 ECU. I need to know if the wiring on the 96 ECU is the same for a 98 & if not which wire do I need to tap into to get signal for my A/F ratio gauge. Thanks guy's, any help would be appriciated.

Blue C and i just did this 2 days ago. We didnt want to mess with the ecu because we didnt know if it was the same lay out as the rest. The harness for your front O2 is right in front of the motor so this is how we did it . Purple a/f wires taps to the blue wire in the harness, White dimmer wire goes to the headlight fuse that is located at your left knee as you sit in the car. In the same fuse box we hooked the red up to the wiper fuse for power, and lastly we hooked the black ( ground) around a screw that was in the same fuse box. Gauge works perfect. I hope this helps. Blue C has a 99 SE-L

^^^ Yep all his ideas hehe. Install was easier than the instructions that are on the org. The method we used was much easier, and we didnt need to pull the dash apart. Gauge works perfect and all the wires are still connected 100%.

Thanks alot guy's I really appriciate the info. What kind of gauge did you hook up? I just went & checked my autometer phantom A/F ratio gauge & it only have 3 wires (purple/signal, red/power, black/ground) My gauge for some reasom doesn't have the white dimmer option. Oh well it is a old gauge! I bought it years ago when the Phantom gauges just came out. Anyways, thanks again!
