'98 5 Speed Max vs. '02 3.2TL auto

My buddy thinks he can take me in his dads car, it has 225hp but also weighs about 3500 lbs and has the 5 speed auto. I think I can take him.
Any opinions?

I just wheeled one in on friday.

I am also 98 5speed with mods (SC not working). He was in front of me, but by the time i entered fourth we were side by side, and then I let off.

Let me know how it goes.

You should be able to take him easily because they're pretty heavy.

I don't know why but they got some serious traction problems too, on auto.

Type S vs a stock 4th gen auto or stick would be a diff story. I work for Acura as a tech, and drive a 5th gen 5spd with all the mods.... I fear no Acura.

My friend is so sure he can beat me, we'll have to put a little wager on it $20-$30 he he. Hopefully I can get a good launch!
thanks for the input.

When I was stock, I raced someone from this board with a 95 maxima 5-speed with y-pipe/ intake/ exhaust from Wayne, NJ. Did a 40 and 50 mph gun and I took him by 2-3 car lengths by a 100 mph+.

Stock 5 speed vs. reg TL should be close, but if you can drive your max very well you may take your friend. Good luck and be safe.
