Hail Damage 95 se 5speed need value help
Hi everyone I have a 95 se 5speed maxima and live in colorado. Recently it was hail on and my insurance company wants to total it. I need some help determining its true value in a market where its wanted. They seem to think its worth $5000.00. So heres what it has agin a 95 se Artic white, 5 speed just hit 100,000 miles was in perfect condition only one small door ding. Black leather, bose, sunroof, power heated seats, auto climate control everything. What do you guys think??? PLease help me.

Thats what I was planning on doing. The car is in excellent mechanical shape and overall a great car, i just cant beleve they want me to take 5000 to total it. I thinik it worth about $7000-$8000. I have at least a $1000 alone in wheels and tires. Does any one agree???
Thanks again for your replies.

Look for high priced 5-speed 95s with ~100k miles and black leather interior around you and submit those prices to the insurance company and say that you want more money... Tell them that a white exterior and black interior Max is rare and that it'll be hard to find or some crap like that

What do you intend to replace it with? If you want the same car, try and find one in similar shape and mileage etc. and make them buy the bloody car for you!
Emphasize any deficiencies the car might have relative to yours. Insist you keep the wheels and tires and certain mods.
I know of cases where the insurance company will cut a check and sell you back the car for peanuts even if its driveable as yours is. You could then keep it as a parts car, daily driver, or whatever.

My car got hailed on too. Damn Colorado weather. Some cars just got DESTROYED last week. I saw a Dodge Durango with fist size dents on the fenders, one car with the plastic wind screens cracked off, and a really nice WRX STi that just got destroyed by the hail.

i work for an insurance comp, u only get fair market value of what your car is worth, what that means they will give what the is selling for in your area, factory, any customizxations will not be covered... so if people r selling your same type of veh in your area for around $5k, that what u r going to get... some ins companies do offer additional coverage that will cover all your customizations, but u would have to report & have receipts & then they will charge u more for the ins cause the vehicle is worth more $$$

take ur mods off if they dont give u xtra $$ for them, my company (geico) gave me more when I provided reciept for my rims which were destroyed... my stereo I was allowed to take out. BTW if thats what maxima's are worth out there then I need to make a road trip with my forsale sign. I got mine for sale for 7500 with a lot of intrest but not sold yet.

I live in aurora so we haven't got it nearly as bad as wheatridge and other ppl but I got minor hail damage in Parker last year and I have to pay a $500 deductible to get it fixed.....hardly noticable so I think imma pass......damn colorado and its CRAZY weather....
I would just find some sawblades or use your old wheels to replace the good ones you have now....take of the clear corners and other stuff and make it as stock as you can....then ask for $5500

I live in lakewood, but was at Southwest plaza when it hailed. It was golf ball size for about 15 min, like 4 inches on the ground afterwards. However my car was in perfect condition, one very minor door ding. Mechanically sound, and just hit 100,000 mile very low for a 95.
