Saved $634 in labor this weekend.

By staying away from the dealership.

Changed Knock Sensor (thanks maximagtr420 for the help)
Changed 2 oxygen sensors
Changed Fuel Filter

Yep, $634 for all this at the dealership (just for labor)

Good job...there isn't a better feeling in the world for me when I save a boatload of cash by not going to a mechanic. I've never thought about taking any of my cars to a dealer for repairs though.

I usually stay away from the dealer as well although I went a couple months ago to check my O2 and knock sensors to see exactly which i needed, it was just to check the codes. Turned out there was a recall on my car's o2 sensors so I got them replaced there free of charge other than the charge for checking the codes which I expected, saved me several hundred from not having to purchase new sensors.

How much do they charge for a knock? I can't imagine more than an hour labor per O2 sensor (although if the car is jacked up and you're used to doing them I bet you could do them a hell of a lot faster [ie. dealer mechanic]), and the fuel filter is a 30 min job at most for a dealer mechanic, so they wouldn't charge more than an hour I'd guess.

Doing it yourself is sweet though! I have saved many hundreds from the stealership with basic maintenance.

Most places will charge an hour a knock sensors. Those guys are queens when it comes to rounding up on time. We all know changing bank 1 and 2 o2 sensors take an hour if you have the right tools and you take time and make sure the wires are in the right place.

Dealers go by the book, if the book says two hours to do a knock sensor and it takes them 20 mins they charge and get paid for 2hours, the book is always conservative. A dealer mechanic can work 7 hours a day and get paid for 15 hours, someone's gotta pay for that! If you can't do the work yourself, best to find a mechanic that only charges for the time he spends.

Yeah or at least an independent who only charges $65/hour vs. the $90 that a stealership charges

yo you should of changed your 02 sensors first then checked if the knock sensor code will come back. O2 sensors sometimes make the knock sensor go on.
