anyone? i havent been able to find any help. all i found was on fastmaxima.com it said the air to fuel gauge can be tapped into pins 50 or 51 but i was wondering if it could just be tapped into an oxygen sensor under the hood. also i heard that if i were to tap the water temp gauge of the stock one it could mess up the readings from the ecu ( this is what one shop told me) i was just wondering if this was true as well. any help would be greatly appreciated

You can try Omori (which I have) or HKS below:

It will depend on the Guage you have (and the thread pattern of the sender with it)...
I forgot which hose size we use, though. 1MAX2NV may remember... Good luck.

well i tapped into the oxygen sensor to hook up my a/f just now and its not accurate at all. it sits in the middle and when i give it half throtle gas it just goes all the way rich. And the water temp gauge is eletrical and the one you have posted there looks like its not.

sounds like you tapped in to the wrong wire mine works perfect.what gauge are you using for the a/f if its autometer. all you have to do is email them adn tell them what year and type of car and they tell you what wire to tap into

The A/F will bounce back and forth AFTER the engine warms up a bit. And yes, as the other person pointed out, w/o a wideband sensor, AF Meter isn't too accurate. For NA it's not useful unless you are squeezing.
Hope you didn't fry your guage randomly tapping the wires... One is 12V.
Doesn't matter if whether it is mechanical or electrical because you still need to "tap" into the coolant somewhere... unless you feel like drilling out some metal where the original is and risk getting metal shavings into the cooling system.

ok well
1) where can i get a wideband sensor and how is it installed?
2) i know that i have to tap into the coolant somewhere but where can i find one that works with an elctric gauge because the one in that picture doesnt seam to be electric, how does it convert the signal?

Why do you need to hook up a water tempture gauge. I thought we had one of those already in the factory gauge cluster. You'd be better off installing a oil pressure gauge instead of having 2 water temp. gauges. The A/F ratio gauge needs to be connected to the blue wire on the O2 sensor.

ya i hooked it up to the blue wire and the readings arent accurate at all, at half throtle it just jumps to all the way rich. well the gauge is actually an oil temp gauge but instead of buying a sending unit i was just going to tap it off the water temp, but i might as well just buy an oil temp sending unit. does anyone know where i can purchase one of these? thanx
