HAI, eBay CAI, stillen, what to do?
I would like to start doing some mods and am looking more into gaining some low end power and a nice growl. I know someone with a 5th gen and the stillen intake and it sounds nice. Just don't know if it'd be different on a 4th gen. the HAI is cheap and I've read that many people on the forum are switching back to it after having an aftermarket intake. I just don't know what I should do. Thanks for your replies

For low-end power, I would recommend staying stock. From what I have heard from others on the board, going back to stock makes a big difference (for the better) in power.
I made my own intake for my car…a custom midpipe and a MAF adapter with a cone filter. This was a great setup during the winter, but when it started to get warmer outside I definitely could feel the throttle lag. So I took my midpipe off and put the stock (resonator?) back on and now it feels great.
With the midpipe on with the cone filter, it gave a real nice growl though (at 3000+ rpm). When I took the midpipe off I lost some of this growl, but it still has a decent sound with better power.
So for sound...I would go with the midpipe with a conefilter or maybe just a popcharger setup. For performance I would stay stock or maybe go with a true CAI.
