Life expectancy of O2 sensors & can they cause hesitation?
Just wondering what the average lifespan of the O2 sensors are on our Max's and if they're worn, can they cause hesitiation problems?
I have over 105K on my '98 SE and recently did tune up (filters, plugs, etc) and a BG Fuel Induction service (tb & fuel system cleaned out), yet still experiencing some hesitation and was wondering w/ the amount of miles on my max, would it be time to change all the O2 sensors?

yes, a faulty O2 sensor will cause hesitation. When my left bank sensor went out, my car would hesitate whenever I gave it gas. I ended up changing all of my O2s within 3,000 miles of one another and the first went at about 60K.

A bad O2 sensor will turn on the CEL, but a dying one won't until it's completely dead (it'll be "slow" at sending info to the ECU)
O2s get worn out at 80k and maybe up to 100k then they become "slow" but they still have life in them. Since they're worn out, you'll see bad gas mileage (100k miles is A LOT).
I'm at 107500 miles right now and I'm planning on replacing them soon and I'm planning on getting a y-pipe soon too since my MPG isn't so great

I wrote the How-to on replacing O2s in 4th gens; it's in the sticky. You can buy the part at www.oxygensensors.com

update, went to autozone yesterday b/c the SES light was on and the diag. tool showed a P0153 code for O2 sensor slow response, bank 2, sensor 1 so looks like its time for a new O2 sensor, also tripped the infamous 0304 KS code, would I be better off replacing just the bad O2 sensor or is it a good idea to replace all of them w/ over 105,500 miles?
Replace just the O2, reset the ECU and see if there's a ghost code for the KS. From what I've experienced and seen, the KS code comes up when the O2s go out. However, at your mileage, I wouldn't be surprised if the KS needed replacing but why do the extra work if you don't have to?

this might sound a little dumb to ask but just to make sure, bank 2 is the rear of the engine, correct?
THT thanx. 4 the info, I will look around to see who can fix this inexpensively, I don't have or know of my own mechanic at this time

oxygensensors.com has a picture of the underneath and location. I was under the car looking at mine could swear that was the setup.
