how much for a brake job??

i seem to be having some brake issues and need to get them taken care of asap. unfortunately, i really don't have time to do it myself right now so i'm going to take it to the shop.

what should i expect to be charged for installation of the brake pads and possibly turning of the rotors??

thanks

<---Always do it myself.

I would guess it would run about $100-150 at a typical Midas shop. Just watch for the 'you need this' line.

Depending on the pads you go with, $150-$200 tops.

Brakes are easy to do yourself. I would just say spend a little time and read on here and you would find out how.

I would recommend not turning the rotors, but just replacing them. Something about the Nissan rotors are too thin, and they cannot keep their shape when you take a layer off of them. They should run you like $20 each at a local parts store.

You think the aftermarket rotors from local auto stores are good enough? Also, how hard is it to change rotors yourself? thanks

Very easy to do yourself...if you have a problem with the rotor you can either use a rubber mallet or hammer (old rotors) them off. You will also notice the rotors have 2 holes you can put a bolt in...these can help you get off the rotor if you need to be carefull with the rotor (reusing).

Just make sure you attach the caliper on fully after installing the rotors.

TIP: My rotors were so rusted on that the bolts or hitting it with a mallet would not get them off. What you do is take a propane torch, heat up the rotor where it is over the hub for about 2 mins and it will come right off.
