Progress RSB from Cattman

did anyone have any fitment problems?
i tried doing it last night with my friend and it does not fit perfectly, couldn't do it. any tips??? seems like after fitting the 2 brackets on the axle, when you lift up the RSB, it is not parallel with the side arms, making it unable to strap the brackets on. anyone HELP!

was the car jacked up? or was it flat on the ground? the write up says to leave the car on the ground or on ramps. cant have the suspension sagging when installing it. i dunno.

I can't help with your problem as I am mechanically challenged. However, I would like to know whether the Progress RSB is better or worse than the Addco RSB as I don't know which one to buy? Or are they a toss up?

Thanks

they all do the same thing. its just the Stillen is the only one that makes it adjustable. Progress and Addco are bascially the same design with no adjustability. in the end its how much you are willing to spend.

The Progress/Addco bars are adjustable. You just move the trailing arm mounting brackets forwards or backwards to adjust the stiffness of the bar. Backwards = stiffer and forwards = looser.

To install, the suspension needs to be level. You can not jack up one side at a time and expect to get the bar on.

i installed my sway bar with the car on the lift (suspension hanging free), and it went in fine.

i installed my progress bar last night. no problems fitting. only thing was with the trailing arm bracket installed, one of the ebrake bracket's hole was blocked. so i had to zip tie it back to place. i put my car on ramps. even though the instruction sheet said to jack up the car, i read somewhere that the tires shouldn't be hanging.

yeah, it is better to get ramps.
That way, the RSB can seat itself correctly onto the car. Otherwise, you will not be able to get it on there straight.

when installing it, was the arm and the RSB parallel to eachother?
on your axle, is the bracket perfectly fit or is it like shifted towards the front a little bit?

the arm and the rsb were parallel. the u-bracket fitted fine on the axle too. the flat plate was flat again the two edges on the bottom side of the axel.

wow, thats strange, because after i put the brackets on my car where the axle is, when i lifted up my rsb, it was not parallel to the arm at all.

Mines not parallel either. My fault though. Used a jack under the beam when installing, and I did not pay attention to the orientation of the arm bracket. There's quite a bit of play in that bushing bracket. Need to adjust it.

Headache Maximus_95????

In from resetting the bar as best I can. There is no way it will be parallel to the training arm or have 1" of bar end coming out past the bushing. Do I have an odd ball or are they all like this?

Posting updates to my www.

I'm wondering if the Cattman deal was for a batch of seconds. The bends arent quite right to allow the bar to run parallel to the trailing arm in one plane and the bar seems not wide enough to run parallel to the trailing arm in the other plane. Sounds strange, see my www for pics.

That said it's on the car and seems to work as it should.
