If you have to drive over potholes -- then 18" wheels will not work -- not enough tire sidewall profile --

Go with some 16 X 7.5" wheels -- with some nice size 225/50/16 tires

Quality costs money -- Be prepared to spend at least $300 each for really big wheels 17" or 18" and at least $150 each for tires to fit really big wheels --

You can easily spend $2000 for a good 18" setup and really you probably won't like it --

You can go out and buy cheap rims but they are cast instead of forged and weigh much more -- Heavier wheel weight makes the struts work harder and makes the ride quality worse on top of the reduced tire profile --

Spend some good money on 16" wheels and you should be much happier when driving in NYC -- If you had really nice smoother roads to drive on, then 17" might be a better choice if you are going for the looks of it --

Just set your car up for how you will enjoy driving it and how it feels in the driver's seat

good rims

In my experience, TSW seems to be really durable... I have a set of 18" alloy VX-1 wrapped in 225/40s, and even tho I live in the burbs I have gone over many potholes by accident... u know when its raining and the water fills up the holes so u can't see and it goes like buhBANG... I've even been up a curb with them (don't ask)... and they're still flawless. I just brought them to a shop to have new tires mounted on after about 2 years and according to the machine they are still perfectly round. I know alot of other people with Konigs and Racing Hearts that have been dented over much less. Props to TSW for building rims that can withstand my reckless driving =D.
- btw when they first came out they were worth around $2200 with a good set of tires but now I think I've seen them around for $1600 packages. Be prepared to spend around 2 Gs on any new name brand set of 18s that just came out. If you are afraid of jacking them up consider getting smaller deep dish rims, they look bigger when the spokes are inset.

I hear TSW's are actually weak! Soem strong wheels would be Volk, Advan etc... name brand wheels. Also stock wheels are really strong. The wheels on my van also have never let me down. I have gone off 20 foot jumps and cliffs and ramps and they have yet to dent . I gotta clean them soon though cuz of all the brake dust. Damn murdock drives my car and never cleans or fills it up with gas. Imma sock that fool

Coming off of cliffs and ramps won't hurt your rims. Your suspension will take one hell of a beating, though!

Potholes bend your rims cause your car can't deal very well with getting the wheel OUT OF the pothole. Going into the pot hole your car's suspension can deal with. Your car goes SMACK! because the pothole is trying to push the wheel back, and all the wheel/suspension knows is how to go up and down.

Do you have any problems with the tires rubbing the struts? What is your offset?

it will fit the 95-96 max but you will have a small gap from the bumper to the grill.
