ok i did the drop resistor mod yestarday and love it! but after i did it and used ti my check engine light went on which i expected and it turned off and o/d flashed its code and whatnot but i think thats normal but anyway thats not the problem the big *** problem i got to work today and on the way there my door locks kept locking themselvs over and over and it wouldnt let me out and then i just got out for lunch and had windows rolled down and the pass front window wont roll up at all and when i push the button the that door to go down the light on the bottom of the door will come on and if i hold it the door locks will lock and unlock over and over what the heck is going on now my window is stuck open and im gonna get my sh*t stolen unless i fix this fast whats wrong btw didnt touch any other things while installing the swtch and that for drop resistor...also i forgot to add that the door lock thing does occationally happen but only when its close to 80 degrees out never when its cold???

 

someone please before i go back to work and get F'ed with a window stuck open and its also supposed to rain and theres no room in the shop to park in there so im screwed

 

seems like bad luck is travelling all around maxima owners.. I did the "Illuminate clock all the time" mod and now ONLY my climate control light buttons wont light up.. I rewired everything back to normal and checked all my fuses, but still no luck. Maybe you should check your fuse box for windows and door locks? Sorry i wasnt of help. I'm just as frustrated as you are and wanted to share the misfortune. Best of luck man.

2. This happened to me once, right after i had the door open in the pouring rain for 15 minutes. I went to put the window down, and the door unlocked. The doors unlocked and locked themselves for like 20 minutes, and finally the window worked again. After about a half hour, everthing was fine. I figured the switch got wet and that's what was wrong. It's never done it again.

 

ok well the same stupid thing happened like every hot day, it cooled off and now that im finally home from work when i got out to my car all the windows work perfectly. All locks work and so does the remote and everything is completly normal. So wtf can do this to my max only when its like 80 outside??? seriously thats messed up just because of the temperture my car decides to have ghost locks and windows? lol

 

I hope this isn't another '99-specific problem like the ignition coils. I've never experienced it (fingers crossed).
