new steering wheel or other options?
new steering wheel or other options?
i don't know about most of you, but the leather on my steering wheel is really worn down. the top of the steering wheel feels pretty rough and there are patches around the wheel where it looks greyish and a little white instead of black. i have an all black interior, so it really stands out. i was wondering if anyone knows how much it might cost to either get a new steering wheel or maybe get new leather on my current. also, anyone know of any steering wheel covers that don't look too tacky? any pics would help out alot too.
You may want to check the 4th gen classified forum for that. You may get lucky & find someone selling one for a decent price. If not you can always post in there that you want to purchase a steering wheel & if anyone has one they will notify you.
www.dccarcare.com sell wheelskins. they're really nice. they make two-tone(called euro-tone) as well.
Expect to spend $150 - $200 on a really good leather re-wrap job. I just bought a nylon steering wheel cover (black), thin in material that doesn't make the whole steering wheel look bulky...I hate that look! Got it at Autozone for $7. Keeping an eye out for a 97-99 leather-wrapped steering wheel w/ airbag intact. It's a very rare find but I know it might be out there somewhere. You can also go aftermarket but that pretty much means that you'll end up chopping the cruise control switches and no more airbags which sets off the SRS light. Other than that, there's no other alternatives that I know of.
