Water spots on windows... HELP!

Ok, im at my wits end on this. These water spots will NOT go away. Ive tried windex, stoner glass cleaner, CLR (Calcium Lime Rust remover), and #000 steel wool. Nothing works. Anyone have any tricks on how to get rid of this crap. I just did Clay bar, Meguiars Paint Cleaner, #7 Polish, and #26 Wax, its so nice and shiny, but it looks like crap cause of the windows.

Honestly if steel wool does not take them out, nothing will. I would have said it's acid rain, but seeing you said your paint is beautiful I really doubt it is. If you want some more things to try, get some paint thinner, maybe 2000 grit wetsand (test somewhere inconspicuous first), rubbing compound (really doubtful). Again honestly though, I don't think anything will take them out.

my friend has this problem and this waht i think it is (as far as his situation is) i think the water spots are in the inside and who ever did his tint did a p!ss poor job and they applied the tint over diry glass. we tried everything out there to clean the outside. even paint thinner and we tried denatureated alcohol. nothing works, he just has to live with it. i hope you can take care of this man good luck. try going to a nice car wash and see if they can try something or give suggestions.

YOu may want to try BonAmi powder. You can pick it up at most grocery stores. I had RainX on my windows. What a mistake in the Midwest. You have to apply the stuff weekly or the windows smear with the wipers and you can't see out. Try putting it on in the winter when it is 25 below. Anyways, BonAmi has removed my water spots and does not appear to scratch the glass. I have gone through several cans of it over the past several years. Does a great job of cleaning. Do note that the can states not to use it on glass. I have not had a problem of any sort with it. Try a small area yourself to check it out.

vinegar and distilled water might do the trick, i think that should be your first option since it dissolves the minerals that make water hard, it works on shower doors, it shold work on the windshield

I use Spot-X, available at Home Depot in the Janitorial section (in a little yellow bottle). It's a powder that you mix with water and then use a special Spot-X scotch pad to apply to the glass. It worked great for me after 2 applications. Just so you know, acid rain and some types of ground water will actually etch the glass itself, so even if you remove the surface contaminates, the glass will still have a slight texture to it that you can see, especially if you have tint.
