Check Engine Light (ECU code 5050) Question
Recently the "Service Engine Soon" light came on in my newly acquired '97 Maxima. I know how to check the ECU on it and got a 0505... which meams No Failure Recorded/Detected. So I turned the screw on the ECU to make the "Check Engine Soon" light to go off. After driving it for about 10 miles, the light comes back on and I get the same ECU code. This has happened maybe 3 times so far.
So when the code is for No Failure Recorded/Detected... does that mean nothing is wrong? Reading it literally it sounds like that's the case. I'd like the "Check Engine Soon" light off if there's no actual problems.
Any pointers on how to get the light off? Does No Failure Recorded/Detected actually mean there's a problem?
