B-pipe?, Test pipe? gains?

I'm going to budget on friday to get a Y-pipe, they talked about throwing in a test pipe. does the test pipe replace that cat? Also, which section of the of the exhaust is the B-pipe and how much is the HP gain and the cost?
Is the B-pipe worth it? Will I lose low end?

Also thinking about about having a magnaflow muffler installed while I'm their. good/bad idea? I def. don't want any Ricey sound.

Sorry for all the questions.

I've heard the test pipe adds very little if any (it does replace the cat. Here's dyno info on the B-pipe: http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/522. If you don't want loud (and maybe ricey...I'm not sure) sound then you should go with a resonated b-pipe. You won't lose low end.

I believe the test pipe only comes with the aluminized Budget Y-pipe, not their staninless steel jobby. I bought the stainless steel Y-pipe from Budget and had it installed about 3 weeks or so ago. I think its the better way to go.

Budget does not sell aluminized Y-Pipes and never have. All pipes are T-304.

Other people have said that too, but after trying to stick a magnet to it decided it was SS.

Gains on the B-pipe are minimal. Nothing you will feel. Aside from the Y-pipe/ECU/MEVI, there arent to many mods that you can "feel" in the max. It all just adds up.

Im currently running a budget Y, straight pipe, custom B, into custom Flowmaster duals. I also have a resonator installed in the new B-pipe, and i suggest you get one too...

Hey Corey, not to ***** or anything, but if you don't know about it yet, there's a Canadian Maxima site - torontomaxima.com if you're interested.

I can't speak to answer your question as I haven't done this yet, but good question.

Jime, I heard that Budget now offers aluminized too.

Absolutely correct they do now offer the aluminized because of the demand. If you have bought one within the last 3 weeks it could be aluminized.

Can't believe I have already made a mistake at my age the future looks pretty dim.

Here is the email I got back from Jody when I enquired.

Hi Jim
We just started selling aluminized Y pipes approx 3 weeks ago.
There were so many customers requesting the aluminized Y pipe
we had to start selling them. We sell the aluminized Y pipe for $200. Can.
approx $150. US we also include a free test pipe with the aluminized Y pipe.
Shipping is still $15. Can.
I hope your having a great summer. Oh, you may have noticed our website is down
We are working on a new and improved one. They were suppose to leave the old
one on the net till the new one was done. They have not done that.

Take Care
Jody
