Blue Climate Control(pics)

Blue Climate Control(pics)
All the bulbs in the climate control unit were blown for a while now and I finally got the time to replace them with some blue LED's today. The the thing is I have no idea what the LED mcd or amperage was so I ended up guessing what value of resistor to use.
The "how to" sticky on the forum has a way to do it that involved using a bunch of wires and an external power source but I didn't like that way. I discarded the entire bulb holder and just stuck the LED's into the holes and soldered the leads and resistor to the circuit board as shown in the pic below. The original bulbs ran on 12 volts so to get the value of the resistor that you need just divide 12 by the amperage of the LED(in amps not mA). eg. if you have a 20mA LED then you divide 12 by 0.02 = 600 ohms. I used a 560 ohm resistor with my LED's.
If you have any questions just let me know.
Here are the pics:
This one is a bit blurry but you should get the idea

Now combine it with this mod and you'll be set. Next on my list of things that need to be done since all the rest of the interior lights are blue.

Yeah...I'm also planning on doing the keyring and window buttons. Has anyone used red led's instead of blue? I was thinking about using red in the GXE since I did the blue in the SE.
