Fell into the engine...

Just changed to NGK coppers and after finishing up (nearly) I was just putting the last two nuts, of the bracket you need to remove for the plug nearest the driver, back on and dropped one down into that mess of wires/hoses on the right side of the engine.

Pulled out the super bright LED flashlight with the chewing gum ready in my mouth and a long skewer to stick the gum on to retrieve the nut, but couldn't find it. I knew where it dropped but after 15 minutes of searching without luck i did a thorough inspection of all moving parts to make sure they were ok and thought i'd risk it and try some quick start/stops to see if i could make it fall out. No luck, but hey it was fun so i did it like 15-20 times

Put it up on some ramps and looked from underneath, still no luck ... think I should just chalk it up as a loss and assume it's going to fall out sometime?

Well, if it didn't fall inside the engine you're fine. Of course if it does fall out chances are you won't know so just buy a new one.

I did the exact same thing. I saw where it landed, and then lost it as it went into a small area.

Went to the dealer and got a new screw...ordred 2 more just in case.

Next time have a magnetic screwdriver ready

My friend dropped a screw while changing my head unit, The screw fell while we were trying to screw the console back in so we dropped it behind the console. I heard it hit some metal part since it made a "ting" sound and was wondering if it's stuck for ever somewhere in the chassis or it will probably fall sometime?

this one time, i dropped a screw inside my car, and it hit the floor and rolled under the floor mat. i picked up the floor mat, and the screw was right under it. Now, do you think i should pick it up, or just leave it alone, (I mean, nobody will notice it under the floor mat, right?).

Hmmm…tough decision. Nobody will probably ever see it…however, there is the possibility that you are driving around without any shoes and that single screw could severely injure you through the floor mat. Yes, this is a long shot, but I don’t think I would take that chance.
