OEM vs. Performance

ITs time for me to get new brake rotors, pads....just wondering are performance ones worth it or should I go with OEM.

well how do you drive, if you are just cruising around toss on some more oem's. if you have something else planned dig a little deeper.

I drive aggressively and I never liked the stock Max brakes. When it was time to upgrade I went with cross drilled powerstop rotors and Axxis Metal Master (ceramics) all around. I would regularly fade the brakes before, never with the new ones.

Also, the initial "bite" is a lot higher than stock, that's also due to the cros drilled design. I like that a lot. The Axxis pads bite is a lot harder and stopping power is vastly improved. Just remember though, the dusting is kind of crazy, my wheels are light brown after 7-10 days of driving.

I would recommend staying with OEM-style rotors. Don't get them turned either. Nissan made them too thin, so after getting them "turned" or "ground" once, they will warp very quickly. You ought to be able to pick up OEM-style rotors at any local parts store for about $20 each.

The more important thing with braking is the pads. I would recommend for a really aggressive driver and stopping the EBC Greenstuff pads. They have a tremendous bite, but just like said above with the Metal Masters....they dust like crazy. Depends on what you want. I have some Raybestos Quietstops on right now and they don't hardly dust at all. They don't have as good of stopping power, but they are a lot cleaner.
