Stock muffler downgrade?

I have an Apex'i muffler on my car(on there when i bought it), and it is really whiney and high pitched. it sounds just like this damn crx that drives around my town. i was wondering, if i put a stock muffler on, how do the tips look? i like the look of my chrome tip. what do you guys think of putting chrome exhaust tips on stock mufflers? i really don't want it to look all cheesy. does anyone have any pics of that setup?

i was looking at the magnaflow or the dynomax mufflers. i want as deep a sound as is possible for our VQ's. anyone have any experience with either of these two?

Dude, I would go back to your stock muffler.
Don't put a ridiculous tip on there, but something tasteful would be pretty cool. I mean, you could probably just get like a 3.5" tip put on there if you wanted to.

The GLE trim level stock muffler came with a chrome tip - that is quite tasteful... I have a spare if you are interested... should fit any stock muffler.

have you used it? do you know what series it was? (40,50,60)?

is it a pretty deep tone, as compared with the stock?

My SE came with a chrome tip. It is prolly not as large as Guttermouf is thinking. I don't know what you have in mind though, man.
I think that the stock chrome tip looks really good. Not too flashy, but classy.

no i don't care about how big it is. actually, i want to go smaller. i've got a freakin' 5 inch tip right now! i just like the chrome look. and i just don't want it to look dumb, like it is obviously a tip and you can easily see the pipe right behind it.

like you said, not too flashy, but classy.
