After starting my car the check engine light is on. What do I do to fix this? Do I need codes from my ECU?

 

First, get your codes. You can do this a couple of ways. You could manually do it (to learn how, read the stickies) or you could take the car to Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts and have them read them for free using an OBDII scanner. Report back to us when you've got the codes and we'll be better able to assist you.
