Best Y-Pipe/ Cat-back set up?

Ok I have a 95 SE and I went ahead and ordered a GReddy SP2 Cat-Back and a Warpspeed Y. Does anyone else run this set up? Do you like it or could it be better? And does anyone know what kind of sound I will be listening to at normal driving speeds, highway, and at WOT? Thanks for the help

I have it and it IS loud. So loud that I had a local shop weld a second resonator into the b-pipe. Now it purrs at idle and partial throttle but roars at WOT.

Haha what makes it so loud is it the Y or the Cat-Back because the GReddy should be coming in first so that was going on as soon as I got it but if its really gonna be that loud then I'm not sure that I want it. Without the Y will it be so loud until I can get another resonator... Where can I get one and about how much? THanks

It's the removal of the precats that causes a lot of the problem; however, the SP2 only has one resonator so that doesn't help any either. It cost me $60 to get the second one welded in.

you can probably check your local shops... it would make sense if they had some in store, but if not they could definately get some or direct you in the right way...

Ok $60 isn't too bad where did you have it welded in before or after the cat? Now that you have the second resonator how do you like the set-up?

I had it added in the last leg of the B-pipe, just before the muffler. With it, my exhaust note is perfect; slightly deeper at idle and partial throttle and roars over all else when WOT; wish it came this way from GReddy/Trust.

i have the ws ypipe, magnaflow high flo cat, and the sp2. and i honestly think it's quiet. under acceleration it can be heard but when you're crusing on the highway it's barely noticable. when you're at wot it does make a nice scream.

I have a couple of questions. Is the b-pipe included in a cat-back exhaust system? And what y-pipe do u recommend to combo with the SP2 to give it a low, deep tone?

yes the b-pipe in included, other wise your just gettting a muffler. Heres a for example for newb's

Engine - Header - Y-Pipe - Catalitic Converter - B-Pipe - Muffler

Basicly when you order a Cat Back Exhaust you get everything after the CATalitic converter. hence the name, "Cat-Back"

killcrap - for completeness, you may want to add that flex-hose between the Y-pipe and the catalytic converter... I don't think thats usually included with either the Y-pipe or the converter right? a seperate component altogether... or maybe I'm wrong.

No, the flex is usually welded to the downpipe (y-pipe for the newbies). Any downpipe with the SP2 will result in a low, deep tone but it'll be loud; you've been warned

**** loud exhaust, that's rice IMHO. I went with a budget y and the apexi ws catback exhaust. It's nice, quiet and really sounds great at WOT. Tone goes away after about 3500k then that's when the intake takes over.

Yep. And an extra $60 for the additional resonator. If I could do it over again, I woulda just had a shop bend a b-pipe for less and stuck a 5th gen muffler on. Not to rag on the GReddy unit but it's not worth $500+ It's good quality and sounds great but not $500+ great.

Does anyone have a pic of the cattman complete exhaust system and/or the warpspeed complete 2.5" exhaust system on a 95 max? Which one of these two do you recommend overall?

Is this your first aftermarket exhaust? If it is, it's gonna be loud. Any aftermarket exhaust compared to stock (assuming that's what you have) will be friggen loud. It's something that you just have to get use to (if you want an exhaust on your car).

I have a warpspeed ypipe that I'll be putting in soon and I was wondering how a WS cat and bpipe with stock muffler would sound? Also, if known, how much hp should I expect from it?

Yeah, the original SP had two resonators whereas the SP2 only has one.

What does everyone think about the HKS catback exhaust system? I've heard no one talk about it.

I think I'm gonna go with the Apexi World Sport Catback System with a Warpspeed Y-pipe. Does anyone have any comments/suggestions about this setup before i purchase it? How will it sound?

I don't know about those but I just got my GReddy SP2 yesterday and put it on and it's perfect just a little grumble at start up and a deep tone when i'm driving but it never gets loud when I put the windows up and the radio on a little I can't hear it so it is perfect for me. When I get the Y Pipe on i'll do an update thoug.

oh boy... this is my first post in like 4 or 5 months... if i recall correctly, it will be an inch short... but im not even sure if the WS is in production anymore... could be wrong, but back in the day they were developing the WS2...

id suggest to just buy a muffler and have a catback made... it will save you a lot of money in the end, and still produce the same thing...
