As for the "bees in the can" sound, it must be his exhaust because it sounds nothing like that.
got some in-car clips, or some drive-by's? It sounds great btw, but with a cat-back will sound much better. I don't think it sounds particularly mean or menacing with everything stock back of the headers. Heh, guess I'm just bitter cuz I don't have Cattman headers!
man you're trying to taunt me arent you! cant wait to get mine finished already
Matt on our forums has greddy sp1 (not SWA matt...) sounds pretty damn good but other than that his exaust is all stock (no y-pipe or anything). i can get you his # if you want

You getting cattman catback?
Definately not understanding the "wow" factor involved with these headers. They are definately not exotic sounding like so many people on this board seem to exaggerate. Sounds just a little bit louder than stock exhaust/Y-pipe.
And that 4th gen wit the cattman everything sounds like...guess what...just about every other maxima with intake/exhaust...

I'm fairly cynical about "X" sounds better than "Y" with max parts. But the two clips of dude's car with the mevi and headers sounded MUCH different than just a y / intake, etc. If I had just heard the sound clip alone I would have guessed a higher revving, performance-oriented sports car like the 350Z.
Sounds a lot better than the diesel truck sound clips I have heard so far.

If you say so. Hell, i have some sound clips of my setup which sound actually almost identical yet its a totally different setup. Im just still not understanding the big hoopla over these headers...

Actually i never said it didnt make a difference. Id be dumb if i said that. All i said was that it was not exotic sounding like soooo many people tried to say. It definately gives it a tone, but nothing thats drool enducing. My point is, while yes it does raise the exhaust tone up a bit, its not what everyone is cutting it out to be...

I've herd your clips before. And well the word we are looking here is not "loud". The main difference here is that the car sounds like a well tuned import and not like an exhaust with flowmasters.
Notice how Steve's car doesn't get that raspy noise near the redline? Thats exactly what I'm trying to accomplish
the only nice sounding NA cattman header exhaust is that guy iron lungs with the cams....and dual exhaust
boosted, the headers are very important from what I read...on an NA maxima headers are useless, our cars NA can barely max out our stock headers!
somewhere in the line of 5hp over just a y pipe...and 3 hrs of labor...
boosted maxima's have seen 20hp more to the wheels over just a y pipe!!!!!!!!
I think the sound just sounds more refined and cleaner with headers...but nothing exotic like everyone is saying!

You nailed it Danny... You're pretty much one of the few that's willing to spend the extra dime in getting a good set up. Wether you choose the cattman, or greddy I'm positive you car will sound badass. Not like some exhuast that was thrown together, like the duals with a flowmaster..
