95-96 red/clear taillights?

I've been searching everywhere for the 95-96 red/clear taillights. I can't find them. does anyone know where I could find them, or any good ideas what I can do to the taillights. I hate thos ugly altezzas everyone's got.
Thanks

Good luck finding them, man. They are very rare, and when you find a set of them, most of the time it'll go for at least 300. Check my www out. Personally, I like mine a lot.

How about no, Scott?

Anyway, red/clears are for ricers.

Hey Ben, those lights are sweet!!! How did you take out your yellow lenses? LOL!!! For everyone who doesn't know by now, you CAN'T take anything out of out 95-96 tails to make them clear! Anyway, I have to agree with you, they are for ricers...Uncle Ben, eat your heart out!!!

Hey, Konrad, there are some on eBay right now. Just search for "maxima red clear" and you should find them. That's where I got mine. They are gonna be quite a bit though. But hey, they're worth it!

And I thought it was shameful to be considered a ricer.. so you mean if I do buya a pair of red/clears people are gonna laugh.. "look at that ricer!"..

I think it just makes it look cleaner and all.. yeah.

we're being sarcastic about the ricer part...yes, they are hard to find, and make the rear look much cleaner and streamlined. That's why you're gonna have to pay big bucks to get them. I got mine about a week ago. Couldn't be happier.

Thats the best chance you have right now and its been going since March unless you want to dish out $400+ for just the outer assembly or you happen to get one by luck. I am not that desperate and have seen several group deals for them fall through so I have purchased Tezza's cause I got tired of the wait. But hey. The Tezza's are better than the amber in there in my opinion but if the group deal goes through or if I get lucky I will not hesitate to chuck the Tezza's.

You can use Testors Candy Apple Transparent Red paint or red vinyl to cover up the orange so you have 3 Red/1 White tails. You can tint the upper half black and have black/red tails.

I'm planning on making black/red LED tails

The black/red sounds interesting, do you know anyone who has done this or have any pics of it?

I am apparently one of the very few 95-96 owners that can stand, and sometimes prefer the completely stock looking amber in my tail lights. Oh well, I guess it's just me against the world, haha. Good luck finding them period. And also good luck finding some that don't get dangerously close to $400. Right now, I can't make that kind of expense. Personally I like the tinted amber and reverse lights that I've seen on the org, especially on a dark exterior, preferably black. I've got to get a cd player, shift and e-brake boots, find a good detailing guy to buff out the incredible amount of scratches on my car. Also, just think of the performance parts you could get for that money...budget y-pipe paired with an intake = 20 some-odd horsepower gain and keeping the stock sleeper look. (evil laugh comes in now) I guess it all boils down to what your priorities are...

Many people have done this. You can see them in some sig pics, but here's some I just found:

There's plenty more pics out there, just can't find them right now

There's also blacking out the turn and reverse...I think it looks better than redding out the turn. I haven't done either yet though.

Actually, what I've found works really well for redding out the ambers and getting an even smooth coat, is to tape off everything except the ambers, and give them a multiple thin coats of Dupli-color Metalcast Anodized Red spray paint. I used it on my tails, up until I got my red clears and it did look alot better than the ambers. At first I wasn't going to paint them, but they turned out better than I thought. Just make sure you do a good job taping and make multiple thin coats, to avoid runs. Stop applying more coats when they match your lower tails. Good luck!

Good luck on finding those things. They are pretty much impossible to find unless you want to pay up big time for someone else to do it. I started a thread like this on the nicoclub.com forums and they all said the same thing. It ain't gonna happen unless you have some good hook ups.

I have a altezzas on for quite a while and I always thought about tinting my stock lights that are sleeping (too long to stay sitting) somewhere in my bedroom. I don't want to change the oem parts though (same for the bumper lights) for some reasons. So should I give a try with tinting the tails or just stick with the good old tezzuhs?

I thought they were talking about tinting the taillights...not redding them out. IMO, tinting the turn signal and reverse lights on the 95-96 looks much better than redding them out, altezzas, and sometimes red/clears. It is all your preferences, but on a red/blue/tan/darker car, I think I would prefer tinting the tails.
Correction from earlier post: skiboarder tinted his tails, and didn't red them out
