Alarm buzzer mod

I did the alarm buzz mod last night, and was wondering if anyone did anything to make it louder, and what you did to make it louder.

I was thinking of just getting another buzzer from radio shack and hooking that in with the first one i already put in, with the hopes that it would be louder. any other ideas, perhaps a louder speaker that they offer? the guy working at radio shack was clueless about louder speakers.

I moved the buzzer to the outside of the car, underneath the rear bumper. There is a hole already in the bottom of the trunk with wires running to your license plate, so just run the buzzer wires through there (it is a rubber grommet).

I've told a few other people on the board about this technique, and they've seemed to like it...

i got the 273-060 buzzer (its actually a "beeper"). it was the one that the guy who made the writeup recommended and used. it was like 4.29 cents on the website. the one i have is 85dB, i saw one in the catalog that was 108dB, but it was 10 bucks and i didnt want to take the risk if it sounded horrible (like a flock of birds being killed). i will try to locate the hole to put it behind the bumper, thanks for the hint...i tried to find a hole in there last night, but was unable to (it was gettin dark and i was getting fed up with it). any ideas on addin a second buzzer though? thanks...

From under the car, follow the wire connecting to your license plate light. it goes back into the trunk. i ran the wire through that same hole and screw the buzzer onto the styofoam with 2 screws. Only way you can see it is if you stick your head under the bumper. Plus it was a lot better being there than inside the trunk.
