Anyone ever had this problem?

Two nights ago, I left my house and as I was accelerating down the block, my car died. It restarted immediately, and as I accelerated, it died again. It seems to stall around 15-25mph, and dies if I don't shift into neutral. If I shift into neutral, it will idle down to 200 rpms, and then jumps back up to normal. I took it to my mechanic, the did some troubleshooting, and found nothing wrong. After adding a couple gallons of gas, the said the problem seemed to be fixed. However, when I left the mechanic's shop, it was still stalling. I went immediately to the gas station, filled it up, and everything has been fine since.

The mechanic thought my car might be almost out of gas. However, my gas gauge was reading correctly, and when I filled it after leaving the mechanic's shop, it only took 14 gallons. Since the max has an 18.5 gallon tank, I wasn't even close to running out of gas. Normally, I refill gas when the gauge gets to empty. I always get gas at the same place and have not had any problems before now.

Has anyone experienced this problem? If so, what can I do about it? My only thought is that I could have had some bad gas in the car, or there could be something clogging the fuel line.
