Question: White smoke gas smell??? and the car does not start if I force it to start the white smoke is intense and the engine revs under 1000 and shuts off if the gas is not pushed. Did anyone have this probable this is a first for me in any car Ive had. The white smoke never happened before. I know white smoke is that water is mixing in combustion but the strong gas smell??? Its a 1997 5speed GXE with only 85K original miles Im the 2nd owner. Any suggestions how much is the damage and why?????

I had a problem with an automatic 92 sentra like that (smoke only sometimes). Turns out it was a bad fuel injector.

 

I had a misfiring condition with clouds of white smoke and it turned out to be bad injectors. So I replaced them all.

 

bad injector(s)
check the voltage across each of them to find out which one needs changing
