GAB Intake mode info needed

Ok, I've done a bunch of searches and I'm trying to find some info and pics on the GAB (Ghetto Airbox) modification for a 95-99 Max. Most of what I've found are posts for 2k+ cars and I want to know if the 95-99 cars benefit from the same modification. Also, the few picture links that are out there appear to be dead (or maybe my connection just sucks!)

It sounds like you just cut one big, or a couple smaller holes in the airbox to open it up and remove the tubing that's no longer needed, but before I hack on my oem box I wanna make sure this is a good mod for my '95

Thanks!

Either swiss cheese or hack the stock lower half (front side and fender side). Free stuff is always good. If you like it a lot, but a want more cosmetic set up, do as Craig said.

Thanks for the info. I pulled out all the tubing and the lower box and zip-tied the filter onto the top-half of the box (around the perimeter and then over the filter) and it worked pretty well, plus it was completely reversable. It actually looked stock from above until you noticed that there wasn't any lower box.

While I noticed a pretty decent power increase up high it had a little too much 'honk' under throttle so I'll go with something else.

I'll get the same result with the cone filter/adapter setup but I'll lose valuable low end torque and with the auto-box I can't afford any loss down there.
