I'm new to this site today, so bear with me.
I have a '99 SE-L Auto (stock) and just ordered a FSTB.
What would be the best order to upgrade performance a little? I have been reading some, and it sounds like a Y-pipe along with a different intake. Is that the first thing to do? How much of a difference would that make, and how much louder is the Y-pipe (don't want to disturb those "family" trips)....

I am new too and i don't think u'll get more responses cause that question been asked soooo many times your best bet would be to click on MAXFAQS on the home page and everything basic bolton questions are answered. Hope it helps and welcome to the max family!

Next for Performance: CAI, then Y-pipe.

mods

The first mods I put on my 99'Se were a Stillen intake and RSB. The RSB made a huge difference. The intake gave a better throttle response and a throaty growl.

I have a 97 SE and started last Feb. The best thing to do for performance (if I did it all over from the start again) would be to do the Intake (Place Racing CAI from Cattmanperformance.com was the best I found cause it actually puts the intake outside of the engine compartment, cooler air = more dense air = more power from the intake) and the Y-pipe (I used the one from Cattman as well, mostly becasue of price. Bolts right up gives the car a nice throaty sound, but is quiet at normal road speeds) Brian Cattman told me that these two together have been Dyno'ed to add around 25-29 horse power! That is my take, good luck!
