Okay guys I need opinions. After much reluctance I broke down and took the car to Mossy Nissan to see what was wrong with the tranny (5-speed). After keeping it virtually all day I was told the 1st gear syncro was bad and needed replacement at the tune of $2200 for a new tranny. So what i am thinking is:

1. Go to the junk yard and get another one and have my mechanic out it in.
2. Let Nissan do it
3. Ride on it till it completely dies.
4. Rebuild it

Of course option 3 is out the window but thought I'd add humor. Anyway I can get one from the junk yard for $500 and my mechanic will charge me $200 to install it. Or get it rebuilt. Let me know guys
