I've heard a lot of good things about the noticable improvement that u get from the CAI and y-pipe. I haven't done any performance mods yet, just cosmetics, so this is all new to me. I'm thinking of picking up these 2 parts. What do u guys suggest for these 2? which are the best CAI's and Y-pipe's and what are the best places on the net to get them for the best price?

Well... the only CAI out there is by Place Racing. (Unless you make the homemade CAI [OSCAI] which is made by... well... you.)

You can buy the PR CAI direct from them or http://www.cattman.com or you can try your luck in the For Sale forum.

As for the y-pipe... people have been debating this back and forth for a VERY long time.

Personally, I'm saving up for a Cattman y-pipe. But that's just me.

Price and that's about it. Warpspeed and Cattman are Stainless steel and will last longer than Stillen. Catman is shinier (in case uyou are going to show your car).

WarpSpeed 4th Gen CAI

FYI we now have our CAI ready for Sale. We have installed them on both a 96 and a 97, which differ slightly. We have them at the powder coating shop now. If interested go to our web site. Both guys are very pleased with fit and performance. We will be offering it in several colors, black, blue, orange, and others if people want them. We believe our CAI is every bit as good as our competitors. It is a TRUE CAI, it requires cutting a hole in the fender.

www.warpspeedperformance.com Till april 15th. stainless steel Y-pipe $305 shipped. As for the CAI, I think I saw a group deal starting up the other day in the group section. Still, expect to pay around $200. Good Luck.

Group buys

maxJATT, thanks for your interest. For now we won't be doing a combination deal. We do have a group buy on right now for the 409 SS y-pipe. See our site for details. Dallas and I want to wait just a little while on the CAI, we may go with a group buy later if someone wants to put it together.
